Yes, I’m starting a business… while still holding down a job. Here’s why it actually makes sense 🍋

When people ask me why I started Lemon Squeezy, the answer isn’t just “because I love events” (although I really do).
The truth is, I wanted to build something of my own. I didn’t want to spend my whole career working hard just to build someone else’s dream — I wanted to create my own.
It’s a bit like the difference between renting a house and paying off your own mortgage: at the end of the day, one belongs to you. That’s how I want my career to feel — like I’m investing my time and energy into something that’s truly mine.
But I didn’t want to just “be my own boss”, I wanted it to be in something I love, and I absolutely love events. From the level of detail and amount of organisation needed, to the creative challenges and networking opportunities - it brings together everything I enjoy.
Right now, I’m juggling my current role as a PA for two incredible business entrepreneurs with the early stages of my own business, Lemon Squeezy. It’s not always easy managing my time, but every late night spent planning or tiny milestone achieved feels worth it — because it’s building towards something I can be proud of.
My mission is simple: to take the stress out of corporate events and make them feel easy peasy Lemon Squeezy.
This is just the beginning, but I’m excited to share the journey — and maybe inspire others who are also carving their own path.
👉 If you’ve ever taken the leap into building something for yourself, I’d love to hear how you did it.
